Enjoy a leisurely walk? One of the best ways to experience Camden is through a heritage walk. These self-guided walks take you through the town’s most iconic sites, such as historic buildings, churches, and memorials, giving you insight into Camden’s colonial past. Go at your own pace – you may just want to do a section of the walk and pick up where you left off another time. Along the way, you’ll encounter the Camden Post Office, St. John’s Church, and the original courthouse, each with a unique story to tell.


Browse through Camden Museum

Whether you’re a history enthusiast or not, the Camden Museum is a must-visit destination in Camden. This local gem offers fascinating exhibits on the region’s past, from its Indigenous heritage to its agricultural roots. You’ll discover a wide array of historical artifacts, photos, and displays that provide a glimpse into Camden’s development over the centuries. The friendly volunteer staff are always willing to share stories and answer any questions. The museum is short walk from Camden Grove and is the perfect outing.


Visit Camden Park House

This was the country property of John and Elizabeth Macarthur – the founders and pioneers of the Australian wool industry. Built in 1835, Camden Park house ranks amongst the most important historic houses in Australia. It’s set on 960 acres of the original estate and is open to the public throughout the year 


Take a tour of Belgenny Farm

Nearby Camden Park House is Belgenny Farm – which has the oldest operating farm buildings in Australia. This was the Home Farm of the Camden Park Estate until 1973 and has been in the Macarthur family for nearly 170 years. It’s a very interesting place to tour.



Meet friends for lunch at the Camden Valley Inn

Once a humble milkbar back in 1939, the Camden Valley Inn is now a destination lunch spot with accommodation too. It’s a great spot for a leisurely lunch to take in the picturesque view. 


Visit the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan

Just a short drive away you’ll find The Australian Botanic Garden - the largest botanic garden in Australia. The garden features native Australian flora, walking tracks, picnic areas, and scenic lookouts. There are plenty of nice spots to sit and take in the views of the beautiful gardens.


Camden Produce Markets

Held every Saturday directly opposite Camden Grove Estate, these markets offer fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, handmade crafts, and artisan products. It’s a fantastic way to support local farmers and artisans while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the community.
